Extracting Herbal materials

The objective is to find the right medium to extract the appropriate plant part, without destroying the active ingredients

Solvent Extraction

This means using some form of Liquid (Menstruum) to extract plant nutrients

The choice of liquid solvent depends on what component of the plant material that is being extracted, The Polarity of the plant material and the solvent they work best in.

Steam distillation

hot boiling steam through a batch of Herbal material like Lavender, peppermint and Thyme.

The steam forces the plant essential oil to burst open and evaporate. The plant water under steam pressure also evaporates.

Enzymatic action

Hydrolyzed wheat protein

 Hydrolyzed wheat protein is made by creating an alkaline defatted wheat germ solution and adding a blend of proteases to induce enzymatic hydrolyzation. After enzyme inactivation the solution is purified and filtered.
